Litter pick date change
The parish council has organised a meet-up for volunteers outside the shop at 10am on Saturday February 9 and invites anyone with an hour to spare to join us to pick up rubbish from the verges round the village.
Hi-vis jackets and pickers will be available (or you can bring your own) and we advise wearing gloves and boots. Volunteers, normally in pairs, usually take one road, or part of a road, to walk along and clear, using a transparent bag for recyclables and a black one for landfill. Bags can be left at the side of the road you have tidied and will be collected later.
A risk assessment has been put together and the safety tips will be read to you at the start. While we always welcome children, they must be accompanied by an adult and old enough to walk safely along our roads, most of which do not have pavements.
We hope to see you there!
