The fun of the circus comes to the show this year, with a tightrope walking display. There’s a new pottery class for children as well as the much-loved bouncy castle, Punch and Judy show and face painting and tractor rides with a local farmer.
Reflecting the 100th commemoration of the end of the First World War will be a display from the Wilfred Owen Society in Dunsden. The British Legion stall will be raising funds again with its familiar stand. And to mark the passing of the years there will be an exhibition of historical photographs of Binfield Heath, presented by photographer Alan Greeley.
Food and drink a-plenty will be provided in a pop-up restaurant run for the first time by the Bottle and Glass and a beer tent from the Shoulder of Mutton at Playhatch. Teas will be served in the marquee and there will also be a BBQ and an ice cream van.
Produce from local artisans will be on sale and gardeners can stock up at the plant stall run by local gardeners. Winners of the inter-schools art competitions, sponsored by Invesco Perpetual, will see their masterpieces hung in the art tent. Animal lovers can watch a display of ferrets and owls from expert handlers.
The Companion Dog Show will take place as usual. Other favourites back this year are the BBO Wildlife Trust, Wyfold Riding for the Disabled, the line-up of classic vehicles and a host of other attractions. Music from the Woodley Concert Band will provide some relaxation.
The Henley Literary Festival team are booked to talk about the week-long event in the autumn and and, for the first time, SHADDO from Shiplake and the Kenton Theatre will be there too.
The show opens at 12 noon on the field opposite Holmwood in Shiplake Row, Binfield Heath RG9 4DP. Admission at the gate costs £4 for adults, with senior citizens and children 6-15 paying just £2. There is free parking beside the show.
