Which bin this week?
Here’s a guide to the waste collection days until next Spring.
These calendars give details of bank holiday collection changes, which bins will be emptied on which days and when extra garden waste will be collected from properties that subscribe to the garden waste service. All bins should be put out for collection before 6am, with the lids firmly closed.
You can download the latest Waste and Recycling leaflet from the SODC website. This includes details of holiday collection changes, what to do if your rubbish isn’t collected, tips on reducing your waste, information on how you can recycle batteries, vapes and electrical items and more.
If you have subscribed to the brown bin service you can have extra garden waste collected for free, on your normal collection day only, during the following periods in 2025 between 31 March to 11 April and 27 October to 7 November. To ensure your extra garden waste will be eligible for collection, please visit the Garden Waste pages.

You can also sign up for a subscription to the garden waste service (brown bins), find details of what goes in which one and how to put out extra items. For more information download a copy of the 2025-2026 Waste and Recycling leaflet.
